PAPER is an ongoing body of work created from recovered wheat-paste advertisements removed from the walls of Manhattan. Rather than treating these surfaces as found materials, MIDABI approaches them as found language—public communication that has weathered, accumulated history, and become an artifact of the city itself. Each recovered surface becomes the foundation for a new work in which the existing layers are not concealed, but incorporated into a new conceptual proposition.
